Kenyon College

The Kenyon Farm

Location:  Gambier, OH

History:

Kenyon purchased an 11-acre farm in Gambier in August of 2012 with gifts from the dining service, Kenyon’s land trust (Philander Chase Corporation) and a gift from an alumna. Currently, five student farmers live at the farm during the school year and two students intern at the farm in the summer months. We have a part-time farm manager who lives nearby. I oversee the farm administratively in addition to managing the College’s land trust and other duties. We partner with the Kenyon Inn to provide all their eggs and with Kenyon’s dining service to provide produce and turkeys. We have spent the past year creating the basic plan for the farm and still have a long way to go!
